The National Codes website, which is maintained by NRC on behalf of the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes, recently underwent a major overhaul. There’s now more information on the National Model Construction Codes and how they’re developed—and it’s easier to find! It’s also the best place to provide your input. Below is just a sample of what’s there and how you can participate.
- Download free Code information such as:
- online presentations explaining major Code changes
- revisions and errata for the Codes you have purchased
- intent statements that help users understand the rationale behind each Code requirement.
- Get involved in code development by:
- attending a meeting (see the calendar for upcoming meetings)
- volunteering for committee membership
- requesting a code change
- viewing the status of code change requests (available in October)
- commenting on proposed changes during our annual fall public review.
- Find out which provinces and territories have adopted the National Model Construction Codes.
- Look up contact information for provincial and territorial ministries.
