In early October, NRC will be launching an online database that will make it easier for construction industry stakeholders to track the status of their requested changes. Publishing the database of Code Change Requests online will make the national codes development process more accessible.
The database currently contains over 500 active Code Change Requests. Users can browse the records in several ways: by date submitted, by Code, by proponent, by ID number assigned to it, or by most recent status. Each database record contains the original request, as well as recommendations put forth by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) standing committee(s) reviewing it. Their decisions, as well as those of the CCBFC, are also provided. The database is updated regularly and can be accessed on the National Codes website.
