Revisions and Errata have been issued and are now available to Code users who purchased the printed and electronic versions of the following National Construction Codes:
- First Revisions and Errata to the 2010 National Building Code of Canada;
- First Errata to the 2010 National Fire Code of Canada;
- First Errata to the 2010 National Plumbing Code of Canada;
- First Errata to the 2011 National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings; and
- First Errata to the User’s Guide – NBC 2010, Structural Commentaries (Part 4 of Division B).
The revisions to the National Building Code encompass energy efficiency requirements for housing and small buildings.
Revisions are issued between code cycles to promptly address health- or safety-related matters, among others, and are approved by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes. Errata are corrections that facilitate the use of code documents. Code users should contact their local authority having jurisdiction to find out if these revisions and errata apply in their province or territory.
For clients who purchased printed versions of the codes, revision packages have been prepared as a set of tables along with selected replacement pages that can be viewed, downloaded and printed, free of charge, from the Internet at www.nationalcodes.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca. The replacement pages are identified in the footer with "(Amended page)."
For clients who purchased electronic versions of the Codes, new printings that include revisions and errata are automatically added to the list of subscriptions as they are published. Simply log in to your Codes-Guides Online Library account and click on the link indicating the latest printing of the publication, under the document title, to access the latest edition.
