Preface: Masterformat 07 53 10, Elastomeric Sheet Membrane Roofing

Preface Issued:
2013-02-08

Scope

These Evaluation Listings apply to elastomeric sheet membranes intended for use in roofing for both new construction and re-roofing. The proponent has demonstrated that the product meets the requirements of the following standard:

  • CGSB 37-GP-52M-1984, “Roofing and Waterproofing Membrane, Sheet Applied, Elastomeric.”

Products conforming to this standard may be loosely laid, partially attached or fully adhered depending on each manufacturer's design and installation criteria.

The standard categorizes the product by type and class:

  • Type 1: non-reinforced membrane
  • Type 2: reinforced membrane
  • Class A: for exposed use
  • Class B: for non-exposed use
