Working with clients and partners, the National Research Council Canada provides strategic research, innovation support, scientific and technical services to develop and deploy solutions to meet Canada's current and future industrial and societal needs. Your challenge
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will partner with your client group to optimize organizational performance, shape culture and build employee engagement through leading human resources management practices.
This is a true generalist role, with key accountabilities including:
- Providing advice and guidance in areas such as staffing, workforce planning, employment equity, organizational development/effectiveness, performance management, labour relations, learning and career development.
- Acting as a strategic business partner to ensure human resources strategies and practices are customized to support the client’s business needs;
- Developing and implementing HR activities in support of local needs and corporate initiatives;
- Leading, supervising, and providing direction to the local HR team.

Screening criteria
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Education
University degree with a specialization in human resource management, labour or industrial relations, public or business administration, psychology, social sciences, sociology, education sciences, organizational development or in another field relevant to the work.
Experience
Recent and significant** experience in the delivery of operational or program services in at least three Human Resources discipline: Staffing, classification, labour relations, human resources planning or learning;
Recent and significant** experience in researching and analyzing strategic and operational HR issues for clients and providing options or recommendations;
Experience in supervision;
Experience in organizational design is an asset;
Experience in change management is an asset;
**Significant and recent – means a minimum of two years experience gained within the last five years.

Relocation
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with NRC's directives.
Salary range
From $76,580 to $85,123 per annum plus the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 a year.

Eligibility List
An eligibility list may be established for similar positions for a one year period.
Assignments and secondments may be considered according to NRC's policies.
