Background
Working with clients and partners, the National Research Council Canada provides strategic research, innovation support, scientific and technical services to develop and deploy solutions to meet Canada's current and future industrial and societal needs. Guided by our core values of impact, accountability, leadership, integrity and collaboration, NRC is a dynamic and vibrant organization that, in its ongoing evolution, is seeking Project Coordinators within various locations to support Project Managers:
2 positions in Montreal, QC - BBB/BBB imperative (A)
2 positions in Ottawa, ON – BBB/BBB imperative (B)
Your Challenge
The Human Health Therapeutics (HHT) Portfolio has for mandate to support economic development through innovation in health care, including innovative therapies for chronic diseases and the aging population. The portfolio has a strong track record of industry collaborations, and is a major contributor to the prosperity of Canada’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Portfolio’s primary sector of activity is the biopharmaceutical industry. HHT targets SMEs in Canada developing therapeutics, biologics or vaccines, to address unmet needs in human health (e.g. in cancer, infections and neurological diseases).
The Project Coordinator supports Project Management activities, develops and maintains program/project plans using SAP Project Systems. In collaboration with Project Managers he or she implements program/project plan revisions in response to change requests, monitors project data quality and resolves any identified problems. The incumbent provides recommendations for the continuous improvement of program/project management processes and tools. The Project Coordinator provides administrative and coordination support for the Director of Operations, Project Managers, and Client Relationship Leaders.
Screening Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Education
University or College degree including project management courses.
CAPM or PMP accreditation by the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be an asset.
Experience
Significant experience in supporting project management in a research and development environment.
Significant experience using MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Equivalency
Formal training in project management at a university, College or PMI Registered Education Providers, as well as an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Assessment Criteria
Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical Competencies:
Basic knowledge of project management theory and practices.
Solid knowledge of operational and financial management within a large organization, preferably within a Canadian federal government context.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret project and financial data.
Knowledge of SAP Project Systems and its integration with other parts of the business system.
Ability to give presentations and provide coaching and training to colleagues in various aspects of project management.

Salary Range
From $49,807 to $58,771 per annum plus the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 a year.
